Overview & Reviews
The value-priced Work Truck package is now available on both regular and extended cabs. Base models pick up cruise control, a sound system, chrome rear bumper and chrome wheels. An automatic transmission is now standard on LS models, and the V6 is no longer an option in this trim. Other updates include new polished aluminum wheels and 265/70R16 tires with either black sidewalls or raised white lettering. The Quadrasteer option no longer requires the buyer to order trailering equipment. There's also a new tonneau cover, and inside, you'll find underseat storage. Finally, Chevrolet has deleted the Silverado's passenger-side outside door lock.
- Roomy extended-cab models, strong V8 engines, innovative features.
- Cheap interior materials, questionable build quality.

lead slead returns from the dead - 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
By g hp - November 15 - 10:00 amI have enjoyed my many trips to the gas stations in my area as this thing is very thirtsy. Its heavy, hard to park due to 4 wheel steering that it dosent have but needs. It is how everever, fun to drive and it tow my trailer with little problems..since adding a blower to the motor adding 150 horse power. Maintence is straight forwrard and the dealer has been excellent on my normal service routien. the soound system is great and its a breese to drive down the highway with not too much cabin noise. I would rate this vehicle as an 8..due to the turning radius. As far as relialble....couldnt be happier!!!

Good Truck - 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
By DKWinnie - November 10 - 10:00 amI owned an 04 ford F150, and it had a smoother, quieter ride and I liked the look better, but the Silverado is a significantly better made truck and just "feels" more durable and I am much happier with it. I also liked the look of the F150 interrior and seats but the controls and placement in the silverado is much better. All in all I am much happier in the Silverado than I was in the F150 though both have their strong and weak points.

Supercharged Sport Truck - 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
By SuperCharged Sport - July 21 - 8:06 amI love to drive this truck! It has a Radix Magna Charger, Volant Cool Air Intake and an aftermarket MAF sensor. Needless to say it is very fast, pushing around 500 hp. Looks much better than the Ford and Dodge. It gets about 19 mpg on the highway and 15 in town, If you take it easy

bad air bags - 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
By EEDDD - July 21 - 2:00 amour truck lasted 40 days &the air bag light came on. took a week to get parts. lasted 4days. air bag light is on again. Called chevy in detroit, they acted as if they couldnt possibly have cared less. This will be my last chevy. $27,000 sticker and it doesnt even go 90 days without problems. I still think they should replace the vehicle
